A new homemade military vessel named Shahid Raeis Ali Delvari joined the IRGC’s naval fleet on Thursday at a ceremony at Bandar Abbas in Iran’s South Port.
In his speech to the event, Major General Salami praised the IRGC Navy for strengthening its capabilities.
He said the IRGC’s plans for the development of air defense capabilities at sea are now realising.
The IRGC forces have acquired large air defense capabilities at sea to counter the threat, the general said.
Emphasizing the infinite presence in Iran’s oceans, the commander said the fate of naval battles is determined by accuracy, speed, depth of navigation and range of weapons.
The IRGC strategy requires the production of weapons and equipment that complies with naval doctrines and standards, Salami added.
He said the IRGC’s naval missiles are above nominal range as they are fired from missile-fire speedboats that can travel at a speed of 110 knots.
