Tehran – Cultural Week for the Islamic Republic of Iran is ongoing in Doha, Qatar.
“The event introduces various aspects and manifestations of Iran and Islamic art and civilization to a wide range of Qatari audiences,” the lieutenant for the development of scientific and cultural cooperation at the Islamic cultural organization Hossein Divsalar was quoted as saying by the IRNA.
“Sixty prominent Iranian artists and athletes from various fields demonstrate the country’s unique historical and civilized capabilities,” he added.
He emphasized that initial responses from both Iranians and Katalis in Doha were encouraging and promised a vibrant, high-quality event in Doha.
“Reowned artists in various artistic fields, including music, Nastaliq calligraphy, illumination (Tazhib), fashion and clothing, leather engraving, painting, embroidery, miniature painting, ring-making, enamel work, marquetry (Moarraq), Khatam inlay work, Iranian toy production, Thuluth calligraphy, fabric engraving, 3D puzzles on fabric, embossed carpets, watercolor paintings, metal sculptures, ethnic clothing, miniatures, ceramics, tilework, flower and bird paintings, handicrafts, video games and sculptures showcase the skills and culture of Iran in Qatar’s capital,” said Divsalar.
He said the wide range and inclusiveness of these artistic fields provide enthusiasts and audiences with an inclusive and profound image of Iran.
“In addition to these activities, a photo shoot exhibition is planned to showcase the country’s historic and tourist attractions to ensure the best possible organization of the event,” the official emphasized.
According to him, Seyyed Abbas Salehi, the leadership minister of culture and Islam, traveled to Qatar for this cultural event, at the invitation of his Qatar counterpart.
Divsalar said during his visit to Doha, the minister also held meetings with high-ranking Qatari officials to further deepen bilateral cultural relations. “Qatar and Iran have maintained continuous and effective cultural cooperation that has been strengthened in recent years, and in this respect, this cultural week will serve as a milestone in the cultural synergy between Tehran and Doha.
To conclude his remarks, he explained the main purpose of Culture Week. This concluded on February 28 by introducing today’s Iran to both a general and professional audience.
