Rahman began his international career in 2008, winning gold medals in the New Jersey International Wheelchair and Amputee Sports Federation Junior World Game, the Tehran Times reported.
His most memorable achievements were two gold medals at the 2012 and 2016 Paralympics.
In the 2016 Rio match, Rahman made history by becoming the first Paralympian to lift more than 300 kilograms, achieving an astonishing 310 kg in the men’s 107 kg final.
He had promised to set up a new record in Tokyo 2020, but tragically, he was absent from the game.
Rahman was preparing for his third Paralympic appearance in Tokyo. There, he was aiming to break the world record in parapowerlifting around the world, but passed away before he could realize his dream.
He will be remembered forever with his warm smile and infectious enthusiasm: the epitome of hope, humanity, faith, love, and peace.
Three-time world champion and three-time Asian paragame gold medalist, Siamand Rahman, will always hold a special place in the hearts of Iranian people.
