TEHRAN – High-rank Iranian diplomat Majid Takt Ravanchi explained that his arguments with Abu Dhabi officials were productive, highlighting the commitment of Iran and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to strengthen their economic ties.
In the X post, the Deputy Minister mentioned a meeting with UAE’s Minister of Political Affairs, Rana Nusseybe, as part of the first political talks between the two countries. He also revealed a “fruitful” conversation between key advisers of the UAE president, Khalifa Shaheen al-Marah and Anwar Mohamed Gargash.
“At every meeting, both sides showed their enthusiasm for expanding relations, particularly in the economic sector,” wrote Takht Ravanchi. “Neighbors have a special place in our foreign policy. Through friendship and cooperation, we can build a better and more prosperous future for our region.”
The value of the non-oil trade between Iran and the United Arab Emirates was $16.2 billion in the first seven months of the Iranian calendar year (March 20 to October 21).
Iran exports agricultural products (fruits, vegetables), carpets, minerals, metals, and goods manufactured to Arab neighbours. The Persian Gulf country mainly sends electronic exports to Tehran.
