Tehran – Trump Zelensky’s meeting was a political car accident, so the spectacular one temporarily overturned all other global headlines. The oval office witness accounts painted a different picture of the meeting. The highly raw and unfiltered conflicts of personality, ego and geopolitical agenda have left the experienced journalists speechless.
The front line was drawn as the drama unfolded on screens around the world. Was Zelensky reckless to thrust the bear after learning of Trump’s famous pale skin narcissism? Or was Trump’s actions adjacent to bullying? The world looked, breathed, and sided with ally as the foundations of diplomacy seemed to break before their eyes.
But for Iranians watching the spat unfold, the question wasn’t who was right or wrong. It was about whether fallout could be a mirror of their own potential future.
Trump has asked the Iranians to sit at the negotiation table since they returned as president. In doing so, he has not eliminated the sanctions he has imposed on Iran or returned to the left nuclear deal at the monastery in 2018.
Ayatollah Seiyed Ali Khamenei, leader of the Islamic Revolution, said earlier last month that Tehran would not engage in negotiations with Washington. “We accept dialogue with all countries, with one exception: America,” he said, adding, “Why? Experience!”
All Iranian officials from different political groups gathered behind the leaders. Still, there were analysts who believed Iran should have consulted with Washington because it didn’t hurt. Zelensky’s meeting with Trump showed them that they can do so much.
Iranian lessons
The drama between Donald Trump and Volodimia Zelensky was more than just a fleeting news item. It is a harsh moral play, a neon-lit warning sign from countries like Iran, and believes in Western promises. Western media may spin it as a unique playing card sight, but for Iran it is merely the latest poem of the familiar bitter songs of betrayal and exploitation
The idea that America offers authentic security guarantees is a dangerous delusion that is the desert-sparking mi-pirae of geopolitics. Ukraine is fascinated by Western promises of support, hanging, feeling vulnerable and exposed. Just as Afghanistan was abandoned by its fate, Ukraine is being used as pawns in the larger game of power, and its needs follow Washington’s strategic calculations.
The inherent arrogance and self-interest of American foreign policy transcends partisan lines. The hunger for access to Ukrainian resources, barely covered under diplomatic splendor, reveals the true nature of the beast.
future
After what happened in the oval office, Iran’s advancement has now become clearer: independence. Iran cannot afford to be seduced by the Western promised siren song. The lesson of the JCPOA is a letter that died thanks to the poor Americans, but should be engraved on stone: we must trust only in our own strength.
This means investing in domestic industries, building partnerships with countries that share our distrust of Western hegemony, and fostering a united society in their commitment to independence of its people. The success of Iranian volunteers who defeated ISIS in Iraq proves the power of the mobilized, determined public. That same spirit must be exploited to construct a resilient, self-sufficient Iran, impervious to the plot of foreign forces.
Trump Zelensky’s encounter was not just an international incident. It was a gift. It was a harsh, undeniable reminder that our destiny was in our own hands. Listen to the warnings, abandon the bonds of dependence, and fake the future where Iran is the master of its own destiny. The fantasy time is over. The time to be independent is now.
