Uzbekistan ambassador to Iran Fariddin Nasriev met with the Vice President of International Affairs and Regional Cooperation of Tehran Iran Ali Ali Najafi Koshurudi on Thursday to hold consultations to discuss issues of relations and mutual interests on both sides.
Iran and Uzbekistan are likely and capable of expanding relationships in all areas as the two countries share cultural and historical commonalities.
During the meeting, the two officials emphasized the historical and cultural commonalities of the two countries, calling it a suitable platform for expanding bilateral cooperation.
It was also emphasized by both parties that it would increase the volume of trade exchange and promote economic ties between Iran and Uzbekistan.
Planning for a meeting of officials from both countries and meetings of the Joint Economic Cooperation Committee of Iran and Uzbekistan were other issues discussed by the two parties.
