Two top diplomats from Iran and Turkey met and held discussions on the sidelines of an extraordinary session of the Foreign Minister of Jeddah’s Islamic Cooperation Organization (OIC) on Friday night.
During the meeting, Aragut highlighted the need for greater coordination among Islamic countries to address the challenges of the West Asia region, and urged a unified and critical stance against attempts to forcibly expel Palestinians from Gaza.
He also warned of the escalation of Syrian instability, stressing that Syrian authorities must ensure the safety of all Syrian communities. He warned that continued unrest in Syria would serve only the Zionist regime and create opportunities for terrorists and extremist groups.
Emphasizing the strong and strategic ties between Iran and Turkey, Iran’s top diplomats described bilateral relations as rooted in mutual interest, calling for both countries to protect and strengthen these relations.
Fidan reaffirmed Turkey’s commitment to defending the rights of Palestinians and emphasized the common responsibility of Islamic countries to counter occupation.
Fidan also emphasized Turkey’s strong interest in maintaining and expanding relations with Iran across various sectors, reaffirming the commitment of the presidents of both countries to promote deeper cooperation.
