Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jasim al Thani made comments in an interview with American political commentator and presenter Tucker Carlson on Friday.
Asked what would happen in the waters between Iran and Qatar if Bushell nuclear power plant in southern Iran was attacked so far, Sheikh Mohammed Al Thani said such incidents would lead to “environmental catastrophe” due to water pollution.
“This will basically be completely contaminated… in three days the whole country will run out of water,” he said.
Elsewhere in the interview, Qatar’s Prime Minister admitted that “we fought Syrian Iran for 14 years,” but emphasized that the two countries maintain bilateral relations despite differences.
Sheikh Mohammed Al Thani also said that he urged US lawmakers to cut ties with Tehran, but he replied that this was not possible, explaining that maps must be drawn for the Americans to show that Qatar and Iran are geographically closed.
Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Aragut recently warned of the disastrous consequences of the Israeli regime or the United States’ attacks on Iran’s nuclear facilities.
“My assumption is that in this case (which is likely to be a high chance of an attack on the Islamic Republic’s nuclear facilities), we will be caught up in a war that is prevalent in the region.
Iran has retaliated twice so far. In other words, they respond to attacks on their soil by successfully targeting sensitive, strategic Israeli targets deep within the occupied Palestinian territory with hundreds of ballistics and cruise missiles.
