Esmaeil Baghaei said there is no basis for measures against free trade or commercial vessels in any country in international waters.
“Negotiations or approaches under conditions or approaches based on coercion and pressure are fundamentally meaningless. Iran’s Islamic Republic is very clear in its stance on the issue. They are negotiations,” Baqaei said during a press conference on Monday.
Regarding the claims made by Reuters regarding the suspension of Iran’s oil tankers, Baghhai said: “The news agency has repeatedly violated professional journalism standards and has reduced it to part of a social deception campaign on issues in Iran and the West Asia region.
A spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs emphasized that, according to international law and the UN Charter, it is completely unacceptable to halt a ship.
He said, “There is no basis for measures against free trade and commercial vessels in the international waters. These claims are unfortunately part of a continuing media campaign. Iran’s maritime trade is completely legal and legal, and we will certainly continue our activities in accordance with international law.”
