The non-governmental nonprofit made the announcement in a statement addressing the Special Rapporteur on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities attending the 58th Session of the United Nations Human Rights Council.
Disabled Iranian women and girls said they face discrimination, poverty and lack of services despite various promises over the decades.
“These disorders are even greater for women and girls with autism,” he added.
He emphasized that the complex challenges raised as a result of threats and sanctions made them more difficult for them to acquire their fundamental rights and increased the need for urgent action.
The organization urged the rapporteurs to continue defending policies that ensure meaningful participation of women with disabilities in the decision-making process.
Such policies would eliminate the urgent need for comprehensive education, employment and healthcare, he said.
The IAA stressed that it was time for the state to take decisive steps and fully implement the commitments made to the Beijing Declaration on Persons with Disabilities and the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities.
