Tehran – Iran’s famous “Tourist Triangle” – the cities of Shiraz, Isfahan and Yazd were major highlights of Qatar’s Iranian Culture Week, where their rich cultural heritage and tourist potential were prominently featured.
Alilezamasa, the head of tourism in Isfahan Municipality and city representative of the event, emphasized the importance of this collaboration and marked a second international partnership between the three cities after a joint presentation at the International Tourism Exhibition.
“These three cities, famous for their historical and cultural significance, serve as the faces of Iran’s tourism. Participation in this event offers a unique opportunity to present Iran’s rich heritage to an international audience,” said Masa.
Isfahan’s contributions to the event center on famous crafts as the city holds the prestigious title of UNESCO’s creative urban crafts and folk art. To highlight this distinction, organizers displayed 40 graphic panels featuring Isfahan’s handicrafts, each introducing visitors to the city’s artistic heritage.
The exhibition also featured panels highlighting top tourism attractions, religious landmarks, and natural and historical locations in Shiraz, Isfahan and Yazd, offering participants an immersive journey through Iran’s cultural centre.
As part of Iranian Culture Week, a special ceremony was held to honor Iranian artists and cultural activists living in Qatar for their contributions to the event. The gathering, organized by the cultural accompaniment of Qatar’s Iranian Islamic Republic, was attended by 140 Iranian expatriates, along with Iranian ambassadors from Qatar, Ali Salhabadi and Atayri Ali Bhaktiari.
Bakhtiari thanked Iranian artists for their dedication and cooperation, emphasizing that their efforts not only showed me the rich artistic heritage of Iran, but also promoted the sale of Iranian handicrafts and works while strengthening connections with local audiences.
He states that Iranian residents are key factors in the success of the event, highlighting the role of promoting Iranian culture in Qatar and promoting cultural exchange. He expressed his hope that such initiatives will continue to strengthen Iran’s international cultural presence.
Ambassador Salehabadi repeated these feelings and praised the cultural attachments and the efforts of Iranian artists to ensure the success of the event. Focusing on the strong public interest at the event venue, Darb Al-Saai, he highlighted the role of Iranian expatriates in strengthening cultural diplomacy and strengthening bilateral relations.
The ambassador also highlighted the strong sales of Iranian handicrafts and artworks, and emphasized the importance of economic opportunities within the cultural sector. He concluded with advocating for further development of the cultural industry and empowerment of Iranians living in Qatar, and expressed optimism about expanding future cultural and artistic initiatives.
