TEHRAN – A new report by Fars News released Saturday night revealed new details about the Israeli regime’s failed terrorist airstrike on June 16, targeting a key meeting of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council (SNSC).
The session was attended by the directors of all three government departments. President Masuud Pezeshkian, Parliament Speaker Mohammad Baghharibav, Attorney General Golam Hossein Moseni Ejay, as well as other top Iranian security and military officials, were held at the strengthened underground facilities in Western Tearan.
The administration’s military fired six ammunition to seal out all building outlets, reduce ventilation and seal residents of the trap. This is a tactic that reflects the assassination of Israeli Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrara.
Despite the accuracy of the strike intelligence, authorities fled the pre-planned emergency shaft, but President Pezeschkian suffered minor injuries during evacuation.
The SNSC, chaired by the President and operating under the authority of the leaders of the Islamic Revolution, has formulated Ali Khamenei and formulated Iran’s defence policy. Its 23 members include military officials.
As Iranian officials told Al Jazeera on Sunday, the June meeting focused on “strategic decisions to counter Israeli invasions” and became a major target for beheading Iranian decision makers.
The assassination attempt took place during Israel’s 12-day war with Iran, resulting in at least 1,060 Iranian martyrs, including several senior commanders. The figures were confirmed by Saeed Ohadi, the basics director of martial artists and veteran affairs, warning that tolls could rise to 1,100.
The Zionist regime’s attacks, which began on June 13th, also targeted civilian nuclear facilities, residential areas and air defense. However, Western media and governments are prominently silent about the tragic aftermath of those attacks.
Failed conspiracy to overthrow the government
The highest officer confirms the gravity of the attack.
“They tried to assassinate me. They acted accordingly, but they failed,” Peshshkian said in an interview with independent American journalist Tucker Carlson.
Presidential adviser Mehdi Tabatabaei told Al Mayadeen that the strike intentionally targeted “aggregations of political and military leaders” that occur at the most intense stage of the war.
He also revealed that local intermediaries had communicated a “ceasefire” plea by US Israel on the last day of the conflict.
Most explosively, Ali Larijani, the leader’s top advisor, revealed Israel’s broader plans.
Larijani added that he personally received the June 12 ultimatum from Israel’s intelligence agency to escape from Iran or “shared the fate” of martial officials.
Additionally, former IRGC chief Mohsen Rezai detailed the Israeli regime’s plans during the invasion of Iran in a televised interview.
“They first aimed to assassinate the Islamic Revolution and the leaders of the Supreme National Security Council (SNSC), which then caused nationwide chaos, infiltrating terrorists into Iran and ultimately Balkanize the country,” Rezai said.
An anonymous Iranian official told Al Jazeera that the social media strike aimed to “paralyse the country” by eliminating leadership during a wartime strategy talk.
The official vowed to “not answer” the assassination attempt.
