Tehran – Following the Zionist regime’s attacks on Iran and the Islamic Republic’s response to invaders, Tehran’s major murals have been changed.
Saturday, June 15th coincided with Eid al-Gadir, the new mural in Tehran’s Enkelab Square, the country’s largest mural.
The mural focuses on memories of Khyber’s conquest, saying, “We are the heirs of Haidar and the breaker of Khyber / It is our turn to uproot the gates.”
The phrase “Ali’s Zulfical (as)” refers to Zulfical, the legendary double-rimmed sword of Imam Ali, which symbolizes courage, strength, justice and righteousness.
Haider is one of the epithets of Imam Ali (AS), the first Shiite Muslim imam. Haider means lion in Arabic, reflecting his famous courage, strength and battlefield skill.
One of the most legendary episodes of Imam Ali’s life is his heroism at the Battle of Khyber (around 628 AD) that took place between Muslims and Jews in the fortress of Khyber on the Arabian peninsula, led by the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh).
The fortress was thought to be extremely reinforced and almost invasive. After several failed attempts by Muslim warriors, Imam Ali (AS) was chosen by the Prophet and led the final battle.
Imam Ali (AS) rushed into battle, ripping the gates of the fortress with his bare hands and using it as a shield. His actions led to victory for Muslims. This moment became a symbol of God’s strength, justice and fearlessness.
On the same day, the new mural at Varias Square also attracted attention for the message about revenge on Israel.
In this mural, the phrase set against a red background is written in both Persian and Hebrew.
Before the fulfillment of Operation Trumis 3, another mural in Varias Square was inspired by the message of the leader’s sad dol and notably featured the phrase “severe response by Allah’s permission” as the center of its design.
A massive retaliation operation targeting multiple Israeli military and aviation bases in response to Israeli attacks on Iranian territory that brought about the martialism of senior military commanders including the Islamic Revolutionary Guard (IRGC), well-known scientists, and innocent civilians including children.
The operation began on an auspicious night in Eid al-Gadir. The IRGC statement declared that following the “aggressive and criminal” Israeli attacks on Iran, the corps, which serve as the defensive and offensive wing of the Iranian state, had taken an accurate and powerful response to dozens of military facilities in the occupying territory. The statement highlighted the power of God, the leadership of Iran’s Islamic Revolution, and reliance on Iran’s unified support.
