Tehran – When recently, when the need to promote solidarity and social responsibility has been felt more than ever before, a campaign titled “Hemmat for Iran” has been launched nationwide to organize and promote public volunteers.
As a people-led campaign, we will provide a platform for public volunteers to help them play a more effective role alongside other responsible institutions in the wake of the Israeli attacks, the IRIB reported.
It primarily aims to turn social concerns into practical behaviors to alleviate the problems of those in need.
The campaign offers a wide range of community services, including protection of affected families, caring for children, temporary accommodation, transportation, psychological and social counseling, support services, and security groups.
It identifies the path to service delivery by gathering information and introducing localized opportunities that can be implemented.
Two other national campaigns began on June 27th, the beginning of Muharam month.
The initial purpose is to help release 17,000 prisoners of intentional crimes.
A total of 187 prisoners (11 women and 176 men) were released until June 30th. The campaign is intended to assist people who have been imprisoned for their inability to pay financial obligations or dues due to accidents or other unintended lawsuits.
Last year, during Muharram and Safah during the first two months, the benefactor helped to free 96 women and 1,643 male prisoners. The released prisoners’ total debt amounted to 40 trillion rials (approximately $45 million).
The second is the blood donation campaign. It mainly encourages young people and women to donate their blood, the IRNA reported.
According to Mostafa Jamali, a transfusion tissue employee, the average level of blood reserves in this country is 10. It is sufficient for 56 days in Tehran for more than 16 days, while Tehran is sufficient.
Iran’s blood donation has increased by more than 5% in the first two months of the current Iranian calendar year. This started on March 21st compared to the same period last year.
Women’s participation in blood donation also increased by 1% compared to the previous year, Irib reported.
A total of 456,020 blood units were donated during the above period.
The blood donation rate is 27.8 per 1,000 people, which is a good thing.
The country’s plasma production reached approximately 400 liters. However, the country needs approximately 500,000 liters of products.
