Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Aragut stressed that negotiations should be carried out wisely, and warned that Iran would not allow repeated violations of our JCPOA (Co-Overall Plan of Action).
Speaking at the ceremony, Araguchi emphasized the need to clearly understand the current geopolitical landscape, saying, “The unfair sanctions imposed on our people are a major obstacle to Iran’s economic development.” .
He outlines two important strategies to address these sanctions, negotiate with international partners, engage them to remove them, neutralize their impact through independence and domestic initiatives, and more. We take high priorities into consideration.
Aragut stressed that Iran must disappoint the sanctions party and call neutralization of sanctions a national obligation. He argued that negotiations would be required to lift the sanctions, but it was not a policy of maximum pressure.
“Negotiations from a weakness standpoint are not actual negotiations. They are surrendering. We will never negotiate on such terms,” he emphasized.
He reaffirmed that Iran has never abandoned negotiations, but JCPOA’s experience proves that the US is unreliable, and that Iran will not negotiate with a country that imposes new sanctions while sitting at the negotiation table. He added.
