Tehran Ebrahim Azitzi, head of the Iranian Parliament’s National Security Committee, strongly criticized the recent actions of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) and its director, saying, “Even though the IAEA’s misconduct and full cooperation were clearly stated, the IAEA’s misconduct and its director’s report were clearly stated.”
According to Tasnim News Agency, Azitsi discussed recent attacks by the Zionist regimes in various regions of the country, including the Natanz and Fordau nuclear sites, as well as the Iranian parliament’s response to this hostile conduct on television programs.
He mentioned the extraordinary session of the National Security Committee: “Today, at our committee meeting, we have reached specific conclusions and have reached recommendations officially conveyed to the head of the atomic energy organization in the coming days.”
Azitzi emphasized his approach to engaging with Iranian international organizations. “Following the recent litigation by the IAEA and the adoption of resolutions by the Board, our committee concluded that our relationship and level of cooperation with the institution must be limited to the framework defined in the Safeguard Agreement.
He added: “As for today’s discussion in the committee, tomorrow we have to say the first decision to be finalized. This is based on the implementation of the Strategic Action Act to lift sanctions already passed by Congress, so it does not require Congress vote or approval in the open session.”
The head of the Iranian parliament’s National Security Committee continued. “We are calling on the head of the atomic energy organization to fully implement this law. The law emphasizes that all actions beyond the protection agreement must be stopped. Therefore, all monitoring and inspections must be fully terminated, and inspectors operating outside the protection agreement framework will no longer have to operate.
He continued: “We argue that cooperation should only proceed through regulation of the framework of safeguards and that voluntary actions outside this framework previously carried out by Iran should not be repeated.
Ajitzi repeated his strong criticism of the IAEA and its directors. “In spite of full cooperation in the Islamic Republic of Iran, the agency’s tort and the director’s report of bias is a clear abuse of our good intentions.
He said, “The National Security Committee’s first lawsuit is for atomic energy agencies to seriously rethink the level of cooperation with the institution in accordance with the law passed by Congress. There is no requirement beyond the law. The full implementation of this law is a clear and clear request from the National Security Committee of the Islamic Council.”
