Demand sounds like countless times in the course of the Gaza genocide, and the British people once again reveal their position that the government will supply arms to Israel.
And there’s certainly something going on about it in the form of a high court case filed by the Palestinian rights group Al-Haq.
At its heart, the UK produced components for American-made F35 fighter jets.
We are in court today to end the government, and ultimately end it, and force Israel to sell all weapons.
The government itself acknowledges that Israel does not commit to complying with international humanitarian law, and the government also acknowledges the components of the F 35 that are continuing to be sent to Israel, putting it at a clear risk of committing war crimes.
The court will listen to the case for four days. The date of the verdict has not been announced yet.
The lawsuit took nearly a year to come to court. The outcome of the current hearing determines whether interests and commitments to the attack alliance can nullify the UK’s international legal obligations.
