Foreign ministers of Jordan, the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Egypt, Indonesia, Pakistan and Turkey have issued a joint statement, highlighting their welcome in Hamas’ steps towards the Trump plan.
“We also welcome Trump’s call to end the Israeli attack on Gaza and the start of the process of implementing the prisoner exchange agreement,” the statement said.
These developments represent a real opportunity for a comprehensive and lasting ceasefire in Gaza.
“We welcome Hamas’ preparations to transfer the Gaza Strip government to the Palestinian Commission.”
“We emphasize the need to commence negotiations to arrive at a mechanism for implementing the Trump Plan, and we are also reiterating our commitment to supporting efforts to immediately end the war in Gaza and implement a plan that provides assistance to the Gaza Strip without prerequisites,” the statement continued.
The Foreign Minister opposed the forced movement of the Palestinian people and emphasized his support in Gaza for the release of prisoners and the revival of the Palestinian Authority (PA).
“We have achieved mechanisms to support the unification of the West Bank and Gaza Strip and ensure the safety of all, as well as mechanisms to ensure the reconstruction of the Gaza Strip and realisation of peace based on the two states’ solutions,” the statement added.
