Araguchi made his remarks Thursday night in a telephone conversation with UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres. He emphasized Iran’s commitment to protecting the rights and interests of its people in accordance with the non-proliferation treaty.
He urged the United Nations and its member states to take a critical stance against illegal attacks on Iran’s peaceful nuclear facilities.
Emphasizing a collaborative approach in engaging with Iranian international organisations, Aragut has focused on constructive debates aimed at fulfilling Iran’s obligation to protect, particularly in light of recent attacks on nuclear capabilities.
He emphasized the importance of European countries and members of the UN Security Council recognizing and supporting this diplomatic progress.
Araguchi also tackles the ongoing humanitarian crisis in occupied Palestine, denounces the genocide carried out by Israel and calls it a looming global concern.
Iranian diplomats highlighted the collective international and UN duties, including the Secretary-General, to stop such invasions and deal with the ongoing tragedy in Gaza.
He also condemned the Israeli regime’s recent terrorist attacks on Qatar.
On Tuesday, Israeli fighters launched airstrikes at the Hamas Resistance headquarters in Doha, Qatar’s capital, which Israeli media described as an “assassination operation.” Airstrikes have come as Hamas leaders reportedly have been convened to discuss the latest US proposal for a ceasefire in Gaza.
