Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Aragut called with Belgian Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Maxim Prebot to discuss the latest developments in West Asia following US military attacks on Israeli and Iran’s nuclear files, continuing Israeli attacks on Syria and Lebanon, continuing to strengthen Gaza’s genocide.
Aragut explained Israel and the US troops’ attacks in Iran. Violation of the UN Charter and international law is a major blow to diplomacy and non-proliferation regimes. He criticized the inappropriate stances taken by certain European countries in favour of these acts of aggression, and warned that such irresponsible actions would promote normalization of violations of the law and increase unrest in the region and the world as a whole.
Referring to the ongoing genocide in Gaza and the UN Security Council’s inaction in the face of the horrific crimes committed by the Israeli regime against the Palestinians, and Israel’s ongoing military aggression against Syria and Lebanon, the US and some European countries said that European countries are in danger. He emphasized the need for all countries to be responsible for confronting serious violations of Israel’s international law.
The Belgian Foreign Minister has expressed concern on his part about the consequences of recent developments and the escalation of regional conflicts. He repeated Belgian positions to support diplomacy to resolve conflicts and Iran’s nuclear issues through negotiations, calling on all political parties to try to remove tensions.
The two diplomats also exchanged views on bilateral relations and consular issues.
Tehran and Washington engaged in negotiations led by Iranian Foreign President Abbas Aragut and President Donald Trump’s foreigner Steve Witkov, who held five rounds of indirect talks through Oman when Israel launched a series of unattacked attacks.
The Zionist regime fought a war of attack on Iran on June 13, attacking Iranian troops, nuclear and residential areas for 12 days, but the US carried out a military attack on three nuclear facilities in Iran, Natanz, Fordou and Isfahan on June 22.
Iranian troops carried out a powerful counterattack shortly after the attack. The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Aerospace Force implemented 22 waves of retaliation missiles against the Zionist regime as part of Operation True Promise III, which caused significant losses to cities throughout the occupying territories.
In response to the US attack, Iranian forces fired waves of missiles at Aldead Air Force Base in Qatar, the largest US military base in West Asia.
The battle was stopped due to a ceasefire that came into effect on June 24th.
