Abbas Aragici, the Foreign Minister of Islamic Republic of Iran, traveled to Rome to attend indirect negotiations for the second round of Iran and the US, had a phone conversation with Italian counterpart Antonio Tajani before returning to Tearan.
The top Iranian diplomat has encouraged the Italian Foreign Minister this series of talks to coordinate Italian cooperation and Oman, explaining that negotiations are constructive and moving forward.
He emphasized that if goodwill continues with realism, it could lead to a conclusion.
Italian Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani expressed his gratitude on his part for Iran’s responsible approach and thanked Araguchi for explaining to him the outcome of the discussion that day. He also reaffirmed Italy’s preparation to somehow support this diplomatic process.
The Roman lecture marked a second round of indirect debates between Tehran and Washington in recent weeks, with Oman playing the role of mediator.
The meeting took place at the residence of the Italian ambassador of Oman, with both delegations placed in separate rooms.
