Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi held separate telephone conversations with his Greek, Slovenians and Sierra Leonean counterparts.
Araguchi spoke with Slovenian Foreign Minister Tanja Hwa-jung on Friday. George Gerapetritis, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Greece. and Alhajitimothy Musa Kaba, the Foreign Minister of Sierra Leone. Today, all three countries are acting as non-permanent members of the UN Security Council.
During the call, Araguchi collectively refers to the three European signatories (JCPOA) of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) – France, Germany and the UK.
He described the move as “irresponsible,” emphasizing that the Islamic Republic remains committed to the path of diplomacy, it is serious about its approach and is determined to defend its legal rights.
Emphasizing the importance of pursuing a diplomatic solution to differences in opinion over Iran’s peaceful nuclear program, Aragut called on the Security Council to support diplomatic relations and prevent further escalations of illegal activities and tensions.
His three counterparts have expressed support for diplomacy as the only viable path to resolving international conflicts for their part.
On August 28, European troika submitted a letter to the UN Security Council to stimulate the snapback mechanism.
