TEHRAN – Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi extended warm congratulations to Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan and to the Turkish government and people on the occasion of the 102nd anniversary of the founding of the Republic of Turkey.
In his message to Mr. Fidan on the occasion of Republic Day, Mr. Alagusi praised the long-standing friendship and close neighborly relations between the two countries and expressed hope that bilateral relations would continue to grow in all areas.
“On the occasion of the 102nd anniversary of the founding of the country, I would like to extend my heartfelt congratulations to the Turkish government, our friendly neighbor Turkey, and my brother and respected Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Turkey, Hakan Fidan,” Araghçi said.
He went on to stress that the solid foundations of cooperation between Tehran and Ankara are built on the “common interests of two great Muslim and neighboring countries” and that this partnership should continue to grow “based on pragmatism and a spirit of good neighborliness.”
Mr. Araguchi stressed the importance of maintaining constructive engagement and expressed confidence that the two countries can further strengthen cooperation on political, economic and regional issues and contribute to peace and stability in the entire region.
Iran’s top diplomat concluded his message by wishing the Turkish government and people “success, progress and lasting prosperity” and reaffirming Iran’s readiness to work closely with the Turkish government to deepen mutually beneficial strategic relations.
