Russian President Vladimir Putin was the first to tell Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov the Order of the Apostles, the highest national honor of the country. The awards ceremony took place at Catherine Hall, Senate Palace in the Kremlin.
Lavrov was awarded by an executive order dated March 21 on his 75th birthday.
The Russian Foreign Minister was ordered to “unresolved services to his homeland, important contributions to the development and implementation of the Russian Federation’s foreign policy, and long-standing fruitful public services.”
In a congratulatory message, the top Iranian diplomat congratulated Lavrov and his colleagues from the Russian Foreign Ministry.
“Giving you this award from the President of Russia is a sign of his trust in you and a sign of your effective and valuable efforts in the complex discounts of the current world, embodied in Iran-Russia’s strategic relationship,” writes Aragut.
He also hoped that Lavrov would be more successful in the future.
