TEHRAN – Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Aragci has strongly criticized certain European countries for attempting to justify recent attacks by the Israeli regime and the United States, including a fatal and unprovoked attack on Iran’s territory last month.
In a call with Swiss Foreign Minister Ignazio Cassis on Saturday, Aragucci accused Europe of responses of dangerous bias and warned that rationalizing such illegal activities would help erode the foundations of international law and promote greater instability in West Asia and beyond.
He has pointed to a wider pattern of violence by the US and Israel in recent years, citing targeted assassinations and military campaigns backed by Washington, which has destabilized the region.
Araguchi referenced the recent 12-day attacks on Iran, during which Israeli forces launched a series of attacks, including strikes on nuclear facilities. The US took part in the attack on the last day, attacking additional nuclear sites.
Following the attack, several European countries, particularly Germany, began to provide diplomatic cover to invaders. Araguchi condemned such a response as betrayal of the UN Charter and international legal norms, calling for a unified international response to hold perpetrators accountable.
The Swiss Foreign Minister has admitted on his part that Israeli-American strikes at Iran’s nuclear sites violated international law. He reaffirmed Swiss commitment to diplomacy and expressed his preparedness to support efforts aimed at de-escalation and peaceful resolution.
