Speaking to reporters after a cabinet meeting on Wednesday morning, Aragucci responded to recent remarks by President Donald Trump, who falsely accused Iran of supporting unrest in the region.
“I heard the US president’s remarks last night. Unfortunately, a deceptive story was presented, as it is the United States, with the military and non-military pressures and threats that have hampered the progress of Iran’s state through sanctions over the past 40 years and with the military and non-military pressures and threats that have hampered the progress of the Iranian state.”
“What really culpable is the hegemonic policies placed on the US and our people that are indeed responsible for Iran’s economic hardships.”
“The fact that the United States is turning a blind eye to the Israeli threat and all the crimes committed by Israel in the region is a pure deception while trying to portray Iran as a threat. It is a deliberate attempt to distort the reality of who the true invader is.”
