Speaking to Iranian media after meeting with Pakistani counterparts in Islamabad on Monday, Iran’s top diplomat Abas Araguchi said “The three main objectives of my trip are to review the latest developments in South Asia, a review of Iran-US negotiations and a review of bilateral cooperation with Pakistan.”
He told the Iranian journalists who accompanied his delegation that both India and Pakistan are friendly countries of Iranian Islamic Republic. Of course, Pakistan is our neighbour and brother country, and we are interested in being informed of the position of our friends in Pakistan before we travel to India.
“In a meeting with a friend in Pakistani, we explained to them about the latest situation in negotiations between Iran and the United States,” he continued.
“Our other goal was to review the bilateral relations between Iran and Pakistan, particularly in the political, economic and cultural fields.
