The architects of the Israeli regime’s so-called “general’s plan” describe the group’s 16-month war in the besieged Gaza Strip as a “absolute failure” to rob northern Gaza.
In an opinion piece by Ynet, retired major and plan creator Giora Eiland, Israel said it failed to achieve its goals in the locked-down Palestinian region.
“Israel failed in three and a half of the four targets of the war. It has not destroyed Hamas’ military power. It has not overthrew Hamas’ rule. Their home (in Israel), and the invitation. As for the return of ductees, our fourth goal – we were partially successful,” he wrote.
Island acknowledges Hamas not only prevented Israel from achieving its goals, but also secured its own goals.
He further emphasized that the Hamas movement “achieved all its goals and achieved the main ones of its main: to continue the rules in Gaza.”
Island added that part of the issue was that Israeli authorities treated Hamas purely as a “terrorist” organisation when they had already established state power in Gaza.
Rights groups viewed the original plan as part of a long-term project of ethnic cleansing that would result in the restructuring of Jewish settlements in the blockaded Palestinian region.
The plan will strengthen the regime’s siege on the region, blocking humanitarian aid to hundreds of thousands of Palestinians, labeling those remaining there as combatants, and “closed military zones” the region. He tried to target him and kill him after declaring that.
The plans of the northern regime of the Gaza Strip that sought to starve target areas to advance the war targets were already considered “destined to failure.”
The malicious scheme was published in late September 2024 by the reserve commander and soldiers forum.
In an interview just weeks after the attack on October 29, 2023, Island said Israel needs to put much stronger pressure on Hamas and other resistance groups to achieve a full victory.
“The fact that it is broken in the face of humanitarian assistance to Gaza is a serious mistake… Gaza must be completely destroyed. A terrible confusion, a severe humanitarian crisis, a cry for heaven. ….”
And in December 2023 he suggested that if Hamas is willing to discuss Israeli prisoners, he should cut down on humanitarian assistance in hoping to ultimately entrust Hamas leadership with him.
During the Gaza War, the general’s plans were partially underway, killing thousands of Palestinians and displaced millions.
Israeli rights groups, including Gisha, B’tselem, Human Rights-Israel and doctors of Yesh Din, said in October 2024 there were “surprising signs” that the plan was in place.
Island’s latest comments came after Hamas delayed the release of the next tranche of Israeli prisoners of war “until further notice” and accused Israel of failing to comply with the terms of the ceasefire contract.
On Tuesday, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said the Gaza ceasefire will end and the troops will resume fighting Hamas until they are defeated if Palestinian resistance groups fail to release their prisoners by noon on February 15. He insisted.
Hamas later renewed its commitment to a ceasefire and issued a statement accusing Israel of putting it at risk.
Hamas gradually released prisoners of war on January 19th from the first stage of the ceasefire. However, Hamas said Monday that it would not release any more prisoners of war against accusations that Israel was violating the transaction.
