The Foreign Minister, who returned home from the sacred cities of Karbala and Najaf and attended the Albainian ceremony of Imam Hussein (AS), appeared on Iran’s National Television IRIB 1 on Thursday evening.
Referring to the peace agreement reached in Washington between Armenia and the Republic of Azerbaijan, Aragucci said, “It is no surprise that the dimension of the Zanjur incident is not yet completely clear, but what Armenians argue against us is different from regional changes, as Armenians argue for justifying us.
The Minister noted, “Of course, I have concerns that this very, this is what we are paying attention to.”
He continued, “But all this will turn into roads registered by American companies under Armenia and Armenian laws, establishing Armenian sovereignty.”
He further pointed out, “What Armenia is telling us now is that they are following all the red lines of Iran.”
“There will not be any US troops stationed at the Iran-Armenian border,” he added.
The minister added, “We must consider real concerns, but we must look at the issues realistically and see exactly what is happening.”
Araghchi also pointed to the recent visit of IAEA Director Rafael Grossi Deputy Director Tehran, saying, “The IAEA delegation met with Tehran’s Atomic Energy Agency and officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Monday.”
He said, “During the discussion that occurred, the initial ideas were exchanged about how Iran and the IAEA interact in the new period. I don’t think that’s a bad start, but it will take some time to reach conclusions and modalities in this regard.”
The minister also reiterated that three European countries, members of the 2015 Nulcear trade known as the JCPOA, have not been tempted to induce a snapback mechanism for the transaction. “Currently, Europeans need to trigger snapbacks until October 20th, but in our opinion, they have no right to discuss or implement parts of the JCPOA, including snapbacks, due to their position focused on zero enrichment, which recognizes the right to enrich Iran’s uranium.
