Tehran – Nadere Rezai, aide in the arts issues at the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance, announced that performances across the country will resume following recent turmoil, highlighting the important role of art in fostering social resilience in a challenging era.
Rezai has emphasized that addressing the recent situation and restoring the flow of cultural activities is essential to community endurance. “The arts play a key role in navigating the crisis and we have decided to resume performances to pass the suspension period,” she said, the IRNA reported Monday.
She further noted that strengthening security around the Tehran City Theater Complex is prioritized in the process of reopening. Several aspects of ensuring public safety are outside the direct authority of the Ministry, but necessary coordination with the relevant authorities has been made and safety measures are in place. Rezai also expressed his appreciation to the audience for their cooperation and adherence to safety protocols, highlighting the importance of public participation.
From now on, she hoped that performances would continue smoothly and that more public and street performances would be organized to stimulate cultural life on the streets and in the community spaces.
With the arrival of Muharam’s moon, she revealed plans to set the stage for performances related to Asura’s rituals and mourning rituals, with active participation from artists, with performances set in the aim of enriching the cultural atmosphere in these sacred times.
