TEHRAN – The police chief of Qudasht, a city in Lorestan province, announced the discovery of three ancient artifacts dating back to the 1st and 2nd millennium BC, the Islamic period, in a local residential area.
Colonel Ali Amani told reporters that police had received a report about a person storing historical artifacts in a private residence near Kudasht. He said the case was immediately prioritized by the police’s security and intelligence units.
Based on this information, officers worked with law enforcement authorities to search the suspect’s home. During the search, three historical objects dating from the 1st and 2nd millennia BC, as well as artifacts from the Islamic period, were discovered.
Colonel Amani confirmed that one person has been arrested in connection with the discovery and that both the suspect and the seized artifacts have been handed over to the relevant authorities.
He stressed that these artefacts are an important part of the country’s cultural heritage and said the police will take firm action against anyone who tries to illegally profit from the country’s historical treasures. said.
