Since the introduction of a ceasefire regime in November 2024, at least 245 people have been killed and 516 have been injured in Israeli attacks on Lebanon, according to the Al Nahar newspaper in Lebanon.
During this period, Israeli ceasefire violations have been registered in various parts of Lebanon, including the outskirts of Beirut, with Israeli aircraft and drones taking place in vehicles, military and civilian infrastructure facilities. The most recent incident occurred on the morning of August 8th, when Israeli forces attacked a car on a highway south, killing one individual.
Israel and Hezbollah concluded the ceasefire mediated by the United States and France on November 27, 2024. In agreement, the Lebanese army was to restore control of the country’s territory within 60 days. Civilians on both sides of the border were able to safely return home, and with the help of UN peacemakers, Israel was to withdraw its troops from southern Lebanon, where it was running ground operations.
