Tehran – Ayatollah, the leader of the Islamic Revolution, has appointed Ali Khamenei to seyed and veteran politician Ali Larijani to represent the highest national security council (SNSC).
The leader, who announced his appointment in Thursday’s order, cited Article 176 of the Constitution. This leaves the council to protect national security. Ayatollah Khamenei expressed his sincere gratitude for the dedicated service of Ali Akbar Ahmadian, who has recently been reassigned to a significant executive obligation.
With this appointment, Ali Larijani is now joining Said Jaliri as one of the official representatives of leaders within the social network, highlighting his continued commitment to strategic guidance at the highest level. The move follows the appointment of President Masuud Pezeshkian, who recently appointed Larijani as social media secretary, replacing Ahmadian, who served as a distinction since May 2023.
Ahmadian, Shamhani, was appointed to the Defense Council as representative of the leaders.
In parallel, Ayatollah Khamenei appointed Ali Akbar Ahmadian and Ali Shamhani to represent the newly formed Council of Defense.
The establishment of a Defense Council, ratified by the SNSC, demonstrates important developments in the advancement of Iran’s strategic defense framework. The council, which has been charged with developing defense policies and strengthening military capabilities, operates under the presidency and includes senior military leaders and associated Cabinet Ministers.
These appointments highlight the Islamic Republic’s resolve to strengthen national unity and protect Iran’s sovereignty through experienced leadership and coordinated defence strategies.
