On April 28, a ceremony to exchange documents signed between Azerbaijan and Iran was held in Baku, with reports from President Ilham Aliyev of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the President of Islamic Republic of Iran.
“We will try to make the relationship between Iran and Azerbaijan better and deeper,” Pezeshkian, an official visitor to Baku, said at the ceremony.
Pezeschkian added that “we can develop better relations with our neighboring countries and regions than with European countries.”
“Iran and the Republic of Azerbaijan have long been friends and supporters of each other. There are many commonalities in the fields of religion, culture and politics,” he said.
“I believe this bilateral meeting will build relationships between the two countries. We have exchanged very good views on various issues. The two countries should work to expand and develop relations.”
“Major documents have been signed between the two countries, and these documents reflect the efforts of both countries to expand bilateral relations,” Aliyev said.
“The North and South Corridors are extremely important to the countries participating in this project. The Republic of Azerbaijan will provide all appropriate conditions for the strengthening and exploitation of the North and South Corridors,” he added.
