Mr. Pezeshkian’s political advisor further emphasized the importance of the impact of visits by high-level officials on the development of relations, and expressed hope that “we will welcome Mr. Ilham Aliyev to Tehran soon.”
The Special Representative of the President of Azerbaijan expressed his satisfaction with the visit to Tehran and said: “The relations between the two countries have strong cultural and historical foundations. Given the serious desire of the leaders of the two countries to expand these relations, all institutions and organizations are striving to remove barriers and develop cooperation.”
Sarafov went on to say that Pezeshkian’s recent visit to the Republic of Azerbaijan marked a turning point in bilateral relations and created new possibilities. Referring to the important agreements reached during these visits, he said: “Most of the agreements have entered the implementation phase, such as holding a joint committee, increasing reciprocal flights, starting the operation of the National Bank Baku branch, and opening flights between Baku and Tabriz, and in accordance with the orders issued, we are working together to implement the remaining agreements by removing existing obstacles.”
