Head Netilvan Barzani, of the Iraqi Kurdistan region, welcomed the PKK’s decision to disband and end the armed struggle with Turkey on Monday, calling it “a decisive step to open a new chapter in the region.”
According to local media in the Iraqi Kurdistan region, in a statement from the president of the Iraqi Kurdistan region, Barzani said “will pave the way for a real dialogue that demonstrates political maturity and strengthens coexistence and stability of the turkey and the region as a whole.”
He also expressed his support and support for Erbil’s peace process, calling it a “historical opportunity,” while thanking Turkish President Recept Tayyip Erdogan for his efforts.
“It’s time for us to see other positive and necessary steps from all involved parties. This will create the right and right foundation, and provide the foundation for lasting and inclusive peace that will end decades of violence, pain and suffering, leading the region towards new advancements,” Barzani said.
