Tehran – The Iranian animated film The Legend of Sepert, directed by Emmad Ramani and Meldad Merabi, won the award for the latest edition of the New York International Film Awards (NYIFA).
“Legend of Sepehr” won the Best Animation Award in the February edition of the festival, Irna reported.
In the legendary land, a boy named Seper and his loyal cheetah Babu embark on a brave yet insane quest to save his family and friends from the clutches of Afriman, the evil king who seeks reign of eternal shadows.
From peaceful island life to chaotic adventures across mystical lands, the duo faces monsters, meet eccentric allies and discover the power of laughter along their journey. As they strive to defeat Ahriman and save their world, Seper and Babu sometimes prove that their greatest weapon against darkness is their heart and unbreakable spirit.
Emad Rahmani, 35, is CEO of Permantay Way Entertainment, a gaming and animation studio. He managed and overseen over 10 projects. He also publishes scripts and essays for many games.
The New York International Film Awards is a monthly film and script competition between public screening events held at the Producers Club in the heart of Manhattan, New York City, and public screening events held every three months. It celebrates films and filmmakers from around the world and aims to be the next step in their careers. Each month, NYIFA awards the best projects through private screenings.
