Iran’s Minister of Labor, Cooperatives, Social Welfare Ahmad Meidari and Brazil’s Minister of Labor and Employment held a meeting in Geneva on Thursday to discuss the meeting on the sidelines of the 113th International Labour Organization (ILO) meeting.
During the meeting, the Iranian Labor Minister emphasized the need to develop bilateral cooperation in the areas of poverty alleviation, empowerment and social protection, particularly within the framework of interaction between BRICS member states.
Both countries enjoy high potential to expand cooperation in all areas, Meidari emphasizes.
The conference engraved a memorandum of understanding (MOU) between Iran and Brazilian Labour Ministers in order to expand bilateral cooperation in related areas.
Iran’s Labor Minister emphasized that signing the MOU between the two sides would open up a suitable method for implementing joint programmes in the economic and social sectors.
Brazil’s Labor Minister said on his part that BRICS members should make enormous progress towards reforming the world order and reducing injustice.
Iran and Brazil’s cooperation can pave the way for balance and change in the international system, Marino added.
Additionally, both sides highlighted the development of cooperation in the following areas, including growth systems, social protection, support for vulnerable lives, sharing technical know-how and experience, child protection, labor inspections, and specialized training courses in the fields of labor and social welfare.
