While German government’s support for the attacks of Washington and Tel Aviv continues, German parliament has announced in an expert report that the US and Israeli attacks on Iran are not justified.
In its official report, the German Bundesag research service revealed that US military attacks on Israel and Iran were non-giati under international law and violated the UN Charter.
The 54-page report, prepared at the request of Ulrich Torden, a member of the Left Party of the German Parliament, was obtained by German news agency German Wehr.
The report states that most international law experts argue that the conditions necessary for a Zionist regime to invoke Article 51 of the UN Charter allow self-defense in the case of armed attacks, but in that case it was not met.
The German host further emphasized that to prove the legitimacy of military action, Israel had to show that Iran was on the verge of building a nuclear weapon, and that it had been expressly intended to use it against Israel, and that the military operation “Lion” was the only opportunity to stop such a threat. However, the report shows that none of these prerequisites were met in a sufficient and documented manner.
According to the report, “Production of sufficient fissile material in Iran’s nuclear program is merely a preliminary step. Israel must prove that Iran is not only intended to build nuclear weapons immediately, but also to use it against Israel.”
The Bundestag report also stated that it is Israel’s responsibility to provide legal justification for its military action, even if some categorized information has not yet been made public and later provides a more complete image of the situation.
The report also said that US participation in attacks on Iran was illegal.
