“We hope to increase production of 2,000 megawatt-hours by the end of the seventh (five-year) development plan (until March 2029), increasing nuclear capacity from 1,000 megawatt-hours to 3,000 megawatt-hours,” Sputnik reported.
Iran has already supported the construction of two power units at the Bucher nuclear power plant, and has resumed construction of the Kalun NPP, said Aeoi’s head.
The first forces of the Iranian Bushel NPP, built with Russian support, were connected to the national power grid in September 2011. The second stage of the factory includes two power units. The development of the Kalun Nuclear Power Plant in Huzestan province is also an important project aimed at improving Iran’s long-term energy sustainability.
