Conservative leader Pierre Poilliel vowed on Saturday to expel foreigners from Canada for protesting Israeli crimes in Gaza, accusing them of promoting anti-Semitism, AFP reported.
Poilliebre was campaigning in the Ottawa constituency, where liberal leaders and Prime Minister Mark Carney competed.
“We hate marches that bring stricter laws to target vandalism and break laws (and) violent attacks based on ethnicity and religion,” Polyebre told reporters.
“Anyone on a visitor visa that violates the law will be deported from this country,” he added, reflecting the message from US President Donald Trump’s administration.
Poilierbre has tried to distance himself from Trump in the past. Trump’s economic attacks and threats to annex US North neighbors have infuriated Canadian voters.
Conservatives in Canada have denounced pro-Palestinian protests, saying they are contributing to the worsening situation regarding what he called a hate crime.
