Tehran Sharzad Theatre Complex in Tehran will be holding a play called “Dinner Party,” written by Neil Simon from March 30th.
HESAM ANVARI is the director of an hour-long theatre with cast members Susan Palber, Amir Gaffermanesh, Iman Kalbalean, Donya Rasremi, Navid Siatiri and Faeze Kalboli.
One Act Comedy is about marriage and divorce. There are three men and three female characters. It’s about obviously French dinner parties offered in a chaotic mode that only comedy masters can create.
Five people are invited to dine at a top-class restaurant in Paris. They don’t know who the other guests will be or why they were invited. Thrown together in a private dining room, they have the creeping suspicion that this unorthodox dinner party will change their lives forever.
Neil Simon (1927-2018) was an American playwright and screenwriter. He wrote over 30 plays and received a combination Oscar and Tony nominations over any other writer.
He was one of the most reliable hit makers in Broadway history and one of the world’s most performed playwrights. Although he is primarily a comic writer, some of his plays, particularly The Eugene Trilogy and The Sunshine Boys, reflect on the experiences of Jewish Americans in the 20th century.
The play will remain on stage at Shahrzad Theater Complex, No. 74, Neauphle-Le-Châteauts, on Hafez Avenue, until April 19th.
