Hu Kong, China’s permanent representative of the United Nations, describes the attack on Iran’s nuclear facilities as a “dangerous precedent.”
In a statement to the UN Security Council, he said Israel should declare an immediate ceasefire before the situation gets worse.
The Chinese envoy said the way Israel attacked Iran’s nuclear land could have serious consequences.
He stressed that nuclear issues must be resolved through dialogue and negotiations, Bangladesh reported.
The statements from Chinese envoy came two days before the US attacked three Iranian nuclear facilities.
Saudi Arabia has also criticised the attack. The country’s Nuclear and Radiation Regulation Commission called it a violation of international law. The statement came after Israel attacked several Iranian nuclear facilities.
Meanwhile, the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) reported that Israeli attacks caused damage to a major building under construction at the Hondabu Heavy Water Research Reactor in Iran. However, there is no risk of radiation because the site did not have nuclear material.
