BEIJING – Following a meeting with Beijing’s Foreign Minister, Director General Rafael Mariano Grossi on Friday, China’s important position to advocate for dialogue to address global issues has been highlighted.
Wang said he hopes the IAEA will continue to support objectivity, neutrality and professionalism in properly dealing with issues such as Iran’s nuclear submarine cooperation and the ocean discharge of Fukushima nuclear contaminated water, according to Chinese media, CGTN and Xinhua.
He called for an important mission of protecting the basic norms that govern international relations, promoting the peaceful use of nuclear energy and preventing nuclear proliferation.
Chinese diplomats said the international community must present a unified voice in the face of unilateral uprising, power politics and bullying. He warned that the world could risk returning to jungle laws.

Grossi said the IAEA places great emphasis on cooperation with China and appreciates its progress in the peaceful use of nuclear energy. He expressed his willingness to deepen his comprehensive cooperation with China and properly manage Iran’s nuclear issue and other related hot spots.
China has played an influential role in line with efforts to resolve Iran’s nuclear issue through dialogue.
Last month, China’s foreign minister hosted Beijing’s Foreign Minister Sergei Lyabak from Iran’s Deputy Minister Kazem Galibabadi and Russia’s Deputy Deputy Minister Sergei Lyabak. The focus of the talks held on March 14th revolved around Iran’s nuclear issue.
China and Russia recognized Iran’s qualifications for peaceful nuclear technology and advocated for the removal of US sanctions imposed on Iran.
