The CEO of Bushehr Provincial Electric Power Distribution Company has announced the launch of a 200 MW solar power plant with a massive investment of over $70 million from China, with the participation of the Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Organization (SATBA).
The project demonstrates a major leap in Iran’s renewable energy sector and a strong international investment and cooperation with China. The 200 MW solar power plant not only increases energy diversification and sustainability, but also reduces dependence on fossil fuels and enhances energy security.
Bushehr is rapidly becoming a national leader in renewable energy, with over 750 MW of solar power projects and a bold goal of 2,000 MW. Supported by major Chinese investments and support from Satba, the new 200 MW solar power plant demonstrates a strong international collaboration. Accelerated land allocation, private sector involvement and rapidly tracked permits drive Iran’s clean energy transition, and Boucher has promoted positioning as a key player in sustainable power generation.
Gholamreza Heshmati, CEO of Bushehr Provincial Power Distribution Company: “This important project is expected to enter the country’s national power grid before next summer.”
The state’s 60 MW solar power plant includes the 50 MW power plant in the Kaveh Methanel complex in Dayyer city, operating at an investment of 17.5 trillion rials from the private sector.
Within less than seven months, more than 750 MW of solar power plants have been identified and their implementation work has begun, with a significant portion of them going into operation by the end of the Persian year.
Approximately two months ago, the 138 MW solar power plant began implementation, with another 200 MW. Also, within two weeks, an additional 300 MW solar power plant was launched, of which 200 MW is associated with the Lavan Energy Company project.
