Three Shenzhen XX Crew Members Members Commanders Colonel Chen Dong, Colonel Chen Sung Lui and Colonel Wang Ji all became the 20-storey long March 2nd rockets and the Chinese Satar of Sky at Goat Center.
Astronauts from China’s 15th manned spaceflight, Deep Sea XX Mission, are expected to arrive at the Tiangon Space Station early Friday morning, joining a group of Deep Sea XIX, who had been in orbit for nearly six months.
The spacecraft is programmed to fly about 10 minutes before crossing the Kalman Line at an altitude of 100 km above sea level. This is the beginning of outer space and the threshold for orbital flight. The Shenzhou XX Spacecraft then quickly separates from the rocket and activates a rapid, autonomous rendezvous docking mode.
According to the docking program, the spacecraft spends around 6.5 hours approaching and connecting to the front port of the Tianhe core module.
Following docking, the crew of Shenzhou XX will use a certain period of time in prep work, such as postponing pressure suits or wearing extreme work suits to prepare for entry to the space station.
Meanwhile, the resignation of the Deep Sea XIX Team Occupational Commanders Lieutenant Colonel Cai Xuzhe, Lieutenant Colonel Song Lingdong and Colonel Wang Haoze will wait in the connecting cabins to welcome their companions.
After all preparations were made, the CAI team opened hatches in the connecting cabins and floated the arriving trio.
According to the mission planner, the two teams will stay together for about four days for the transition work.
The crew of Shenzhou XX is China’s 15th manned spaceflight and will now be the ninth resident group on Tiangon, the only operational space station operated independently in a single country.
During his six-month orbit, Chen Dong and his teammates perform a variety of tasks, including conducting scientific experiments and technical demonstrations, carrying out spacecraft, installing space debris shield equipment, experimental equipment and other external devices, obtaining devices from outside the space station, and carrying out science lectures and other activities.
