“We place emphasis on Iran’s commitment to not develop nuclear weapons, respect Iran’s right to the peaceful use of nuclear powers, and oppose illegal, unilateral sanctions,” China’s Foreign Ministry spokesman Lin Jiang said at a press conference.
The statement came before a meeting of Iranian and European officials in Istanbul on Friday. There, the parties discussed the situation of Iran’s nuclear program.
Beijing continues to communicate and coordinate with relevant parties, adding that it “will play a constructive role in addressing the legitimate concerns of all parties, supporting the international nuclear non-proliferation regime and bringing solutions that promote peace and stability in the Middle East.”
“China is working to seek a political and diplomatic solution to Iran’s nuclear issue,” Lin said.
Following a meeting between deputy ministers of Iran, Iran, France, Germany, and Germany and the consul general of Turkey’s metropolitan cities, Iran’s vice minister, Foreign Minister Kazem Galibabadi confirmed the debate centered on negotiations with Iran.
“We exchanged opinions and discussed the latest play on nuclear and sanctions that would lift indirect negotiations,” Galibabadi said in X’s statement.
