China said BRICS is not seeking conflict and that none of the countries will target after President Donald Trump threatens a new 10% tariff, Newsweek reported.
In a true society post on July 6th, Trump said additional collections would be hit by countries that are in line with developing countries’ policies of the country’s economic group “collaborating with BRICS’ anti-American policies.” He said there would be no exceptions.
“BRICS is an important platform for cooperation between emerging markets in developing countries,” said Mao Ning, a spokesman for China’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, at a press conference on July 7.
“It advocates openness, inclusiveness and ambitious cooperation. It is not a bloc for conflict, and none of the countries are targeting it.
“On US tariff hikes, China has made its position clear multiple times. There are no winners in the trade and tariff wars, and protectionism is nowhere to be connected.”
