Belarus, China, Cuba, Nicaragua, Russia and Venezuela together with Iran issued a joint statement in support of the Islamic Republic of Iran at a meeting of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) board of directors.
In their statement, these countries expressed support for Iran’s peaceful nuclear program and acknowledged that Tehran is defending the Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT).
They also said dialogue and political talks were the only way to resolve differences surrounding Iran’s nuclear issue.
These friendly states against Iran also pointed out that the JCPOA revival should not be ignored as the deal closes later this year.
The signatories of the statement called on the three European countries/EU and the US to fully implement all provisions of UN Security Council Resolution 2231 (in support of the JCPOA).
