In a message to Mehr, Zong Peiwu recalls that New Year’s celebrations in Iran have come for a while since the New Year was celebrated. “These two traditional celebrations, symbolizing the hopes and aspirations of the Chinese and Iranian people for the New Year, reflect the common passion of two ancient civilizations for unity, happiness and vibrancy.”
“China and Iran as two ancient civilizations that have been linked throughout history through the Silk Road, have always played an important role in cultural interaction,” the ambassador further said.
“The unity of Knowles and Chinese Spring celebrations as dialogues that transcend time and space remind us of discovering the commonality of each other’s rituals and deepening mutual understanding through cultural exchange,” Sonpeu further pointed out.
The diplomats recalled that the Chinese embassy in Tehran recently held a joint concert entitled “Let’s bring the Chinese New Year together” and transformed music into a bridge for cultural interaction between the two countries.
The event was attended by many Iranian officials and their families, as well as various groups, including artists and journalists.
The concert included performances of several works of Chinese and Iranian music by a local music group from the Faculty of Music at Tehran University.
